Worship Renewal Weekend PDF Print E-mail

Saturday and Sunday, March 27 and 28, 2010

Thank you to Dan Adler for lifting us up and challenging our approach to worship. Click here to listen to his message from Sunday service.

There is a renewal happening around the world and across denominational lines in the realm of powerful corporate worship through music. Yet many churches find their services either trapped in patterns where "what we've always done" has become more powerful than scripture itself and feel lifeless, or they've changed forms and styles but are just caught up in the shallow contemporary performances. In both types of congregations, those on the platform tend to function as performers and the congregations as passive audiences. Church services have become information services or productions instead of houses of worship and prayer.

Dan Adler

Dan Adler is helping leaders and congregations break out of both patterns through Worship Renewal Weekends.

Many leaders feel a void in their current worship services, but don't have a clear sense of what's missing or how to get to where they want to go. This seminar will equip leaders with clear Biblical values, goals and tools for dealing with change and developing a vital worship ministry in their congregation - no matter what the size. A Worship Renewal Weekend takes a two-fronted approach to facilitating change in a congregation, first be teaching leaders through a four-hour worship seminar entitled "Building A Vital Worship Ministry".

KEY SEMINAR TOPICS INCLUDE:

  • Building a Biblical Foundation for Worship
  • Tradition versus Traditionalism
  • Prioritizing the Essence of Worship verus the Form
  • The Spiritual Power of Worship
  • Dealing with Change, Clearing Away Hindrances, and Ending Worship Wars
  • Practical Help in Leading, Planning and Working with Worship Teams
  • Developing a Multi-cultural Worship Ministry

Heart of the City Ministries

Dan challenges the congregation to move from passive attendance to active worship, and to begin hungering after God's presence in their lives and church services.

The second vital part of this weekend happens on Sunday morning. This is especially significant because it is in the congregation where patterns, opinions, lack of understanding and divisiveness often reign. Leaders can come away from a seminary encouraged, equipped, and excited, but still be up against many of these barriers. Bringing a guest speaker from the outside who can teach and challenge the congregation directly can be an effective way to address the issues that hinder change in a church body. So on Sunday mornings, Dan Adler preaches a sermon entitled "BECOMING A PEOPLE OF WORSHIP WITH A HUNGER FOR GOD." This sermon challenges the congregation to move from passive attenders to active worshippers, and to begin hungering after God's presence in their lives and church services. Following this sermon, he then leads the congregation in a time of participative worship to provide a tangible experience of what has just been addressed.

With this full weekend approach to renewal in worship, Dan is able to accomplish both essential goals by addressing and training pastors and worship teams, and also challenging and teaching the congregation. His experiences have repeatedly shown this approach to make a significant impact in churches throughout the Midwest.
